Tuesday, May 6th is National Teacher Appreciation Day! Each year Haywood EMC shows our appreciation for local educators through the Bright Ideas Education Grant Program. 

Through this program, Haywood EMC is able to partner with outstanding educators to bring their creative lesson plans to life. From April - September each year, teachers can apply for these grants of up to $2,000 to fund projects that enhance student success in the classroom.

The 2025-2026 school year marks the 31st year that North Carolina's electric cooperatives, like Haywood EMC, have funded educator's innovative projects. During that time, Haywood EMC has issued more than 100 grants to projects that have benefitted students throughout Western North Carolina.
