The Haywood EMC Credentials and Elections Committee met on Thursday, May 14, 2026, to review the returned Candidate Application and Member Petition Nominations forms. The following individuals have been placed on the director ballot for election to the Haywood EMC Board of Directors.
District 5:

- Nathan Grant
- Steven Ross
- Doug Worrell
District 6:
- Alan Israel (incumbent)

How to Vote
The 2026 Haywood EMC Director Election will begin on June 1. Member-owners with a current email address on file will receive an email from our election partner, Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS), containing a voting link and unique login credentials.
The email will be sent from noreply@directvote.net on or around June 1, 2026. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive it by June 3. This year’s candidates are running for seats in Districts 5 and 6. Voting is open through July 17, 2026.
Members may also vote using the SmartHub App or by mail-in ballot, which will be sent to the mailing address on file on June 1, 2026. Only one vote per membership will be accepted. Please use only one voting method; if you vote online, a mailed-in ballot will not be counted, and if you vote by mail, an online ballot will not be counted.
