Waynesville, N.C. (January 26, 2025; 5 p.m.) -
Haywood EMC’s crews, contractors, and mutual aid crews have worked hard, overcoming harsh conditions and many obstacles in the past 36+ hours to restore power to over 10,000 member-owners. In order to be able to best serve our member owners in the coming days, all crews will wrap up their work for the night tonight at around 11pm. For all member-owners who are still without power at that time will be without power through the night.
We understand that the temperatures overnight will be extremely cold and urge member-owners to take all necessary precautions if they remain without power.
Our crews will continue their restoration work tomorrow (Tuesday 1/27) morning and will continue working throughout the day.
Haywood EMC is an electric cooperative supplying electricity to over 29,100 member-owners in Buncombe, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Madison, and Transylvania counties in NC, as well as Oconee, SC, and Rabun, GA.
