Planned Outage information: On Tuesday, July 14, Duke Energy will have to take an emergency outage on the transmission line feeding our Quebec Substation. The outage will take place from approximately 9 am - 11 am and will affect Haywood EMC members in Lake Toxaway, Quebec, Balsam Grove, Cold Mountain, and Wolf Mountain communities of Transylvania County.
This emergency outage is necessary to cut dangerous trees that are leaning near the transmission line. This outage and subsequent maintenance are necessary to take prevent serious damage and danger in the future. The work must also be done as soon as possible.
